Francisco "Toco" Albuquerque is a Carlson Gracie Sr. 5th degree Black Belt with over 30 years dedicated to perfecting his craft and passing on his knowledge onto some of the best students to have ever participated in the sport. He is also the founder of the now prestigious brand: Nova Geração; which can be found located in over 5 different countries. Since 1992, from his school in Leblon (famous neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro), he has produced some of the best grappling talents in the world: Roberto "Cyborg" Abreu, Alexandre "Pulga" Pimentel, and Vitor Belfort are just some notable names that stand out.

Francisco has also been involved in many social projects for the improvement of his local community in Brazil through the use of his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu influence. With more than 100+ black belts formed under his teachings, Nova Geração is the largest and the most recognized school in Brazil with branches in Mexico, United States, United Kingdom, Portugal and several more countries in Europe. What seperates Nova Geração from the rest is our focus on making our students grow as individuals and not just fighting machines.
